Not the best day for the birds, as it was cold and mama Osprey seems to be keeping eggs warm. She must have dropped them when I was not shooting last week.
But I took a couple of shots of a Vulture and a large electrical distribution on the pole across the way because of its intricacy. Hoping it will help with determining detail lost using a TC.
I was quite surprised to see that it was no different from the lens alone. I processed it the same identical way as past shots.
The TC is the Pentax rear mounted 1.4x, and it really does get me closer, but it also makes it clear my arms and hands are not steady as they used to be.
I played acoustic guitar for most of my adult life, and that builds and maintains a lot of muscle strength not only in the hands, but in the forearms as well. Haven't played in 6 years though.
So I have begun plunking on it again as well as using some 10 lb weights. I am sure I will be sore for a while lol.
But we shall see if it helps over time.
The weather the rest of the week will be drab, so wont likely be shooting. The Rookery is about 40 minutes from me, and the weather can be entirely different there
so It would be hit or miss.
Anyways, here's 2 shots with the TC on. The Vulture was about 700 ft up. The electrics were across a 4 lane highway plus another 100 ft.
Not sure if that's helpful lol.
Beautiful work, Danniel, especially hand held.
