Women Talking

I have Zoom running now for the women of the local painting group. I find it interesting that there can be twenty women talking to each other without one talking over another. I would wait for an opening in the conversation, but there is no opening. It is constant talk, with one person speaking and then another. It's the same when meeting in person at the Legion Hall. I seldom say anything there because I would wait for a lull in the conversation. There is no lull. This seems like the type of thing that would need some kind of electronic control - constant talk without anyone talking over the other.

I also am one who politely waits for an opening to speak.
Very frustrating with one relative, there are few openings.......
If that person interrupts, I try to override myself and just keep talking.

I understand. With one other person, I'm fine. With three or more people, I resign myself to being a listener.

I have designated my wife as the world champion of talking. There is no conversation that lasts less than an hour and no way to stop it. Don't tell her I said that. (:

It is like that with my wife, her sisters and the other women of her family. When they are together I, and the other men in the family, dont talk to them...

Out of curiosity I did a little math. Over the last 10 1/2 years our friend Jerry has averaged starting 3.7 topics and made over 34 posts every single day for approx. 3832 days. That's why he's #1.

I almost always do, and UHH keeps me laughing. Yes, it is the best medicine.
If the women discussed photography and computers, I'd join in. Sewing and cooking aren't my favorite topics.
