My wife was born in 1953. She is five years younger than me. When the news came across, I asked her if she remembered The Ventures. She had no idea as to whom I was referring. Then I asked her if she ever heard Telstar, the music. She said that she did not know what it was. I ran up the song on YouTube and had her listen to it. Still a blank for her.
This is what makes me feel Older!
But she remembers Hawaii-five-O! Maybe there is some hope.

One of my favourite videos is of General George Babbit playing with The Ventures. You may remember that he was the original drummer but had to bow out as he was too young to get into the clubs they were playing. (At least that’s the story!)

Sadly, it didn't.
She informed me that her dad had a radio in the garage which she could listen to the "Rock and Roll" stations.
I will have to put together my stereo system and pull out my The Ventures LPs.

I had the pleasure of seeing them live, I had almost all of their albums, they were the best.
