Hi guys. So I came across this website about a year ago and I thought I'd share it with anyone who might be interested. It's called "Backmarket", (not "BLackmarket"). Just to be clear, I neither work for, nor profit from any sales of theirs, I'm just hoping this may be of interest to some of you. Backmarket re-sells lightly used and completely re-furnished electronic equipment. Among some of the items they sell are cameras, lenses, cell phones, computers, printers, tv's and all kinds of appliances. Everything they sell is refurbished and tested before shipping. Goods are graded, fair, good, and excellent, (reflected in the price), but that is only cosmetic, (perhaps a tiny scratch or two), everything works the same, regardless of the grade. Everything comes with a full 12 month warranty, and service is fast and friendly. The prices are unbelievably good, usually at least 50% less than anywhere else that I have seen. So far I have bought a cell phone, (over $1000.00 new, cost me $385.00),and listed as "fair condition", it honestly looks like brand new, not a mark on it! I'm now looking at laptops and perhaps a TV. I realize buying re-furbished isn't for everyone, and I was sceptical to begin with myself, and didn't want to recommend it until I had some experience with the company. So anyway, I hope this info might be helpful to some of you, and if you have a few minutes to spare why not check them out and see what you think? Have a great day!

Be careful to check new prices with other dealers like B&H, Adorama, etc. because they seem to OVERSTATE the retail price of items on their site. I see a Lumix GH5 refurb posted for $1372. Brand new in box from B&H is $1397. Saving $25 is hardly worth it.

I quite agree, some research would be obvious, but the phone I got from them, (which I'm using right now, and enjoying 5g), was at least $700.00 less than anywhere else I could find.

That’s encouraging. They probably know more about phone prices than camera prices.

I bought a Samsung cell phone from them. It looked like brand new and works just like a new phone. Very pleased and the price was right. About $50 less than comparable used phones.

Bob,

You are close enough to MD to consider the following craigslist post:

https://baltimore.craigslist.org/sys/d/havre-de-grace-hp-probook-6470b-core-i3/7427400920.html

Last summer I purchased an HP 6570b, configured with upgraded SDD and met him at the White Marsh Royal Farms. The meet was flawless and my laptop is working great. He has inventory - "Please click "More Ads by This User" for other configurations and sizes."

My after purchase comms were all answered to my satisfaction. If you go this route, let me know how it turns out.

Gerry

So I felt it was time for a quick update for anyone who was interested in my original post. I bought my phone through the company mentioned in my post. It is a Samsung galaxy note 10 plus 5g. Cost to buy new is north of $1000.00! I got my (re-newed) one for $385. 00. And I I honestly couldn't be happier with it. It looks and performs exactly like a new one. I don't think I'll ever buy a (new) phone again. The 5g connection is blazing fast for calls and web browsing, and the camera is the best I've ever experienced on a phone. When I ordered the phone the (free) delivery was estimated to be a week. It actually took 2 days, I had a couple of interactions with the people at the company, and they responded quickly, politely and with good humor. So again, I really have no affiliation with "Backmarket". I don't get anything for sending customers to them, and maybe my experience was better than most (I don't know). I just thought I'd share my thoughts and experience with anyone here who might be interested and wants to save a few bucks! Stay safe and have a great day.
Ray.

This source is no longer available. I am happy with my HP and last year inquired about a backup only to learn he no longer has need / time for additional part time laptop refurbishment.

Is there really a Note 10 Plus with 5G? I checked the internet there are only the 4G LTE ones.
