In the 70's, while traveling cross-country in his 1971 Mercury Capri, my brother was hit by a taxi in Chicago. The tow truck driver put a hook on the front bumper to tow the car. The bumper immediately crumpled and shredded, wouldn't have happened on these 1950's beauties!
