I was on I-80 IOWA on the highway there was a Truck museum, where I saw trucks from 1912 onwards. If this is your passion, try visiting there.

To me, the #4 Merc is the winner. Beautiful paint job.

Looking at the Nash, is that green an original color? Surely, not?

Good morning. You sure have an eye for capturing photographs of these American cars from 1950 to bring out their automotive design beauty. Thanks for sharing.

BTW: Our hats should also go off to the individuals who collect and restore these automobiles to their original attractiveness, to preserve same.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ In the '50s I hated Nash's and Studebakers but think they're beautiful today. My first car was a '50 Chevy two door hardtop with a split manifold. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Nice pix! I find it interesting that every brand shown is now defunct (Jeep was originally Willys).

From the massiveness of the bumpers, I'm guessing that, in those days, tow trucks would actually stick their hooks right on the bumpers to tow the cars. In the 70's, while traveling cross-country in his 1971 Mercury Capri, my brother was hit by a taxi in Chicago. The tow truck driver put a hook on the front bumper to tow the car. The bumper immediately crumpled and shredded, wouldn't have happened on these 1950's beauties!

Nope those bumpers would bend from something like that (have seen it happen)

Very nice set of images!!!
I do believe #2 is a 1949 Mercury, judging by the door handle , 1950 & 1951 had pushbutton handles, 1949 had pull-out handles. but the doors were interchangeable.
