Sony a9ii problem

I have the AF on for the shutter release pressed halfway down. However, the AF does not work. The focus box does not change color, if course.

Anyone know where in the menu I can correct this?

Thanks.

David

What focus mode do you have selected?

I suspect the question was about the *mode*, meaning single or continuous.

No, I found the problem. When I was changing from single image, I accidentally turned to manual focus. Tough shooting with gloves on.

That will do it every time. Good luck with your Sony a9II, I shoot the Sony a9, which has the identical specs as the a9II.
The focus tracking on both are excellent, now I get similar results on my D850 and D500, BUT, I can get 20 fps with the a9, and that is a deal breaker for getting exactly the moment of capture.
For example, in the image below I captured the exact moment the Snowy Egret brought up a minnow on the fly. An image that a 20 fps camera has an much easier chance of catching.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.
