Just playing around a bit with my vintage 1949 Holton 241 Tenor Sax. It has kind of a cool deco look to it that I tried to enhance through processing. How did I do?
Very well saxman! Nicely done. A beautiful instrument!
Looks gold plated. I play a 1931 gold plated Selmer.
Good morning Sax,
An absolute work of art!! My personal favorite use of this powerful instrument (aside from being showcased in your beautiful images) is in "balls to the walls" rock and rock / roll (yup, there is a distinct difference). Since approx. 1964 I have been in seven honest to goodness / actual recording / working bands in which I was usually on drums with occasional sessions on lead / rhythm guitar. We were NEVER without a "Saxman". I feel the most significant way to intensify a piece of music is to simply go for a key change (usually stepping up / very seldom down but that can often times work). But the other tried and true way to intensify is to employ a driving sax break. Works every time and really gets folks on their feet. Sorry, I got a little off subject there but your images are very worthy of framing / displaying.
Great images.
All the best to you and yours in the upcoming year and during these trying times,
Terry

On the double sax, have them lean forward while having the page turner pull back the tummies. Exceptionally good for the staccato pieces.
Seriously, great work on the whole set.
Super set! Disc or record, Stan Getz is on the play list every week.
Fabulous! You should seriously consider marketing "product" as a sideline...
Loving the color harmonies latent within...
Thank you for sharing your epic image artistry!
Thank you all very much. A couple specific replies:
kvanhook: An early model gold plated Selmer. Sweet!!
Terkat: most tunes, in my opinion, need a sax solo. I like a tune that switches back and forth between keys every few measures during the solo. Makes me concentrate.
Quixdraw: I haven't listened to Getz in a long time. I'll have to pull him off the shelf and give a fresh listen sometime soon.
Thomas902: Very kind words coming from somebody who knows what they're doing.
Beautiful Sax, terrific photos
