He was found running the streets . As you can see in the pic he was a sad looking little guy.
He was afraid of everyone and everything. When we got him, we named him Sandy as he ws Sandy color and we lived on the beach. He was 18 lbs when we got him. He is now a bit over 30 which is great.....
We were told it would take 6 months for him to begin to warm up to us and living in a house.
when we got him home, he walked the house, went into the bedroom, jumped on the bed and said IM HOME !!!!

We have been working with him , he is still cautious of most people , if anything is moved in the house such as a chair or desk or even a lamp. He will bark at it and run and hide.
He hears every sound. He misses nothing. A squirrel in the yard he is barking at the door. Hears every truck that pulls up. Barks before you can push the doorbell cause he heard you.
When we first got him, if you raised your hand he would run and hide or cower in front of you.
Now I can pretend that I'm going to hit him, he looks at me and laughs and walks away. He knows how good he has it for sure.
We will eventually have the youtube video channel running Sandys travels. Money made from youtube will go to buy food, toys etc for shelters across the country as we travel.
PS we did a DNA test , he is 51% Siberian husky 48% standard poodle and 1 % minature poodle.
He was found running the streets . As you can see... (show quote)

So glad you rescued Sandy.

Great story. Happy for the both of ya ! Glad things are working our for ya ! We live about 25 miles out of a small city 120,000 & it's really sad that when someone decides to get rid of their pet we usually end up seeing them on our county roads. We have 3 German Sheppards & a little Yorkie. Can't afford anymore !

Sandy does not hear anything you do not hear. How do you "pretend" to hit him? He is a small dog, not your personal cash cow. How pathetic.

what a sad person you must be, raising my hand to him and having him ignore me is a good thing , Using youtube profits to buy food and toys for shelters is also a good thing. it is not a personal cash cow for me as the money will for food , for the shelters. I also learned years ago, you can NOT give them money as it very often will go into peoples pockets
