Cool photos. What US Naval Ship is that? I see the number 60. Could it be the USS Alabama (BB-60) museum ship? Does not match other old pics I have seen of her. Did they alter her? Or is that another ship #60, perhaps a cruiser? I really like Navel Ships. I have been on the USS Iowa as a museum ship in San Pedro, CA. Thank you.

I'm originally from Mobile. Yes, that's the USS Alabama, the original ship turned into a museum. I contributed 10 cents in 6th grade toward saving the ship from the scrap yard. I got free lifetime admission but lost my card. The park around the ship is also an amazing display of military hardware and planes. It is well worth seeing if you're into that sort of thing. Ah, the memories. Nice photos. Very nice.

Yes, this is the retired USS Alabama BB 60 in Mobile Bay. I have been on her a couple of times. She was the last of the South Dakota class and was armed with 16 inch guns.

We love Mobile. The park around the battleship Alabama and submarine USS Drum is wonderful. I had more photos but had a corrupted memory card. I salvaged what I could. It is a shame because the lighting that evening was beautiful.

Mayor Sandy Stimpson was in my high school class. You now have a one chance in fifty of identifying me.
