Thank you for lovely photos of Freddie. Well done.

I looked for his brothers all last October and November with no luck too.

Freddie is beautiful, as are your photos. How nice that he returns. We are waiting to see if our pair of ducks show up this year - they have come for the past two years about this time and stuck around for 4 - 5 months - this pair would come to our yard every evening for food. She has an injury or deformity of the end of her bill - so we recognize her but it makes it harder for her to eat but she has been staying alive.

Beautiful birds!
Are they part of a family that the ring-neck pheasant belongs to?

Very nice set of images particularly thru the kitchen window. Seems obvious to call them ringnecks. Assume that's what you call them too. Based on your comments about hunters, I guess some of you folks also call them dinner. Years ago, I did my fair share of hunting but decided I enjoyed watching them more than eating them. Good show.

aka Freddie the Phessie. We haven’t seen him for quite some time and thought with the bird shooting going on in the fields around us he had met his demise. He’s a regular visitor to the garden enjoying the seeds, biscuit and fat balls we give the birds, so I was very pleased to see him and took some quick shots through the kitchen window, alas minus his tail.

What a great treat to have him return. Also, great photographs to commemorate the event, as well.
