You will need a pair of anaglyph glasses to view in 3D. (red and cyan lenses.)

Move your index finger slowly towards the nose of the boat. When you can touch it you will not touch the screen.
Of course you will have to have the 3D glasses on.

Maybe if you made the sky darker it would stand out more.

Another way to see the effect is to move the mouse over the surface. It's on the same plane as the background and it passes well behind the boat.
