Wish me luck

Well, after the debacle of having my camera and lens slide off the top of the SUV and crash on ceremoniously into the concrete driveway, it was determined that without some serious work the camera body which is a k3 is no longer functional The lens even though it's banged up pretty good. Seems to work, but I couldn't really test it on the K52S because it's out of Hocus has never been stellar by any means and the k3 is out of action. But I have purchased a KP with very low mileage in excellent condition and I am going to slap that old lens onto that camera and take some shots today and hope and pray that they come out sharp at least somewhat consistently. I can always save up for another 300 mm prime in the next year but if I have something I can shoot with right now I won't go completely insane sitting around the house twiddling my thumbs and toes and waiting for them to come and take me away lol

Good luck. The KP is truly an excellent camera - it outperforms my K3, K5, and K01. I normally use the 20-40mm lens but the 50-300 produces nice results.

Hate to hear of things like this, I am sure the mishap is very upsetting for the future three words, Personal Property Insurance.

Yes and that is a very good idea. We did try to claim it on homeowners but that went over like a screen door in a submarine. The co-pay would have exceeded the cost of the camera and lens by two lol

Well that remains to be seen. I've seen some talented people who can do some very strange things lol

It is said to have less ISO noise than the k3 which undo remarkably. The k-3 is actually pretty noisy. The K52S was actually much less noisy. It just did not have as good a autofocus system. The lens I'm using is the 300 mm F4 prime and like I said it took a good whack hard enough that wouldn't landed it curved in the end of the the edge of the front edge of the metal framework. That's a heavy steel or aluminum barrel. I don't know which it is but it's heavy so I'm not sure of that damaged any of the mechanics on the inside. I'm sure it didn't do them any favors, but we will see today because the osprey are very good targets. They're high contrast, brown and white. As long as I don't have a bunch of white gray clouds behind them, I should be able to get some good test results
