What is the role of an on line magazine camera critic? And should we trust their conclusions?

And for you who questioned the sharpness of a 20 year old Sony Point and shoot---I will give you a few more snashots from the same series of the Mikado in Brandon, WI--probably hired by the photogs shone in one of my snaps. Do you think they got better photos with all their UHH super gear on their tripods?----<Five attachments----Sony DSC-P93---running on just two AA batteries and a memory stick>.--Eric
I do encourage you to participate in the critique section of UHH. We have adult discussions on the merits of individual photographs, how to improve them, etc. You have not asked for any constructive criticism on these photos and I will not offer any, but think we all benefit from the evaluation / critique process.

A simple, answer: No.
Longer: Trust the feedback of existing users. This means, do not be a 'first adopter'.
As Alexander Pope once popped... "Be not the first by whom the new are tried, Nor yet the last to lay the old aside."

Your opinion.
Those on the receiving end of opinions are wise to recall an old Jewish saying, "What other people think is none of your business."
Good one; added to my collection of quotes.
Why do testers do this?
They always compare the m4/3 camera versus aps.???
Why can't they compare it against another m4/3 camera?
Apples to apples, not apples to oranges.

Yes and as Rudyard reminds us "The toad beneath the harrow knows exactly where each toothpoint goes"

You as others MIS THE POINT OF THE POSTING OF THE MICADO STEAM ENGINE-----it was not to provide award winning photos---but to demonstrate what a 20yr old Sony DSC-P93 point and shoot could do. They were not SALON PRINTS----they capture the moments perfectly---they don't need criticism or panning by certain self proclaimed critics on this site. THEY ARE NOT MEANT AS SALON PRINTS----got that SlyCoyote?-----

It really doesn't matter what YOU consider the point of your posting was, others have commented on its content appropriately.
As advised before, if you are going to ask questions in your posts expect people to answer them. If you are not prepared to take the time to think about what you write and continue with this self importance, inflated ego, 'legend in your own mind' attitude you are going to have to get used to spending a lot of time attempting to defend yourself.
So here again to jog your memory is the question YOU asked, underlined in red to help YOU. Grow up, stop playing the 'victim' and take responsibility for what YOU write.

It really doesn't matter what YOU consider the poi... (

Dear SmugMug------Yes, I am a grownup among those who have returned to CHILDHOOD like yourself. The rhetorical question (you have underlined in red)---WAS answered by myself before I posted. And my 66 years with quality cameras and darkroom work from the beginning of the 66 years gives me a position of authority not to be insulted and belittled by the likes of you. And I determine why and my reason for posting and not you---SmugMug. So----grow up. As someone insulting on this UHH asked me---, maybe it was you, --asked my age and then answered---"under twenty"----I reversed that and ask you the same?-----

You are simply digging yourself in deeper.

Dream on--your lips are flapping, but no meaning is coming out?

I think you might find some
interest in the section. You can always take or leave the critique. And offer your own suggestions. You get out of this gear head circular argument stuff.
