I just got a new camera, I'm still reading the manuals (VERY good, Sony!) and Bagherra is my first subject, but I'm not quite ready to try my "luck" with the new camera and I found his posture irretractable so here is my old P&S Sony at work.

Our cats are generally my first “victims” for a new camera or iPhone. Unfortunately, they don’t like it when we get too close; so a tele lens is a better choice for me. Also, they hate the blinking red light for pre-focus, So, I always turn the light and the beep off. Even then, cats do not like to pose. I like the photo of your fur baby and you have done well with exposure of a black cat. Ours are white, so they too have there metering challenges, especially since they like to hang out in the sunroom. Nice photo and kitty.

I love the picture of the black cat. Reminds me of the one I used to have, long gone now.

But a question if I may. What are manuals? You mentioned you are reading them. Are they the collections of pages that sometimes come with new cameras and other assorted items we buy these days? Interesting.
