Great set of images. Heard of the Mummer Parade but never knew what it was. Great colors, great characters, great photo opportunities. I like that you portrayed the characters of interest in oversaturated colors while muting the background color of the streets and buildings. Really dramatizes the characters and the spirit of the parade. Good job, good show!
I increase saturation just a touch +5 in lightroom the fabric they use is inherently intense. As you know to much saturation blows out detail.I did nothing to street or background buildings they were mostly near middle gray as it was i had toburn in the sky and some brick as the image just has to much latitude and got blownout.Yes the gray background help to make the images pop.I don't know of any parade with such color I'll post a few more I did a presentation of 75 of these shots that had a theme here with a max of 10 images does not begin to tell the story. Sadly even as the oldest folk parade in the us it get little press and coverage Philly does a suck job in marketing this and it runs from 8am till after 9pm my images cover perhapsa 3 hour block of the parade at its beginning.
