I am playing around with this concept. I think this one looses a bit as the bill of the goose blends in with the swirl. Really would like to see your comments on this.
Really cool shot! I can easily see the bill. Highlights might be blown on tail. Very creative!
Yes the bill gets lost. Not sure that a swirl is the way to go but I’m really glad to see ANY attempt at working “outside the box” with BIFs. Also, I am guessing whatever creates that swirl can create various other movements as well. Keep on keeping on.

Interesting, but why have the "tracing" show where the bird is going and not where it has been? If the swirl is to mimic motion. The tail should have been warped and blurred into a swirl. I have seen these sorts of effects done before. I like your general composition and idea but for the placement direction of the bird. Keep making these!
Thank you for your comments. I do have to work on this technique.
Really enjoy the abstract application. Seems as if the goose is doing his darndest to fly above the swirl pool and get the heck out of there!
I agree - keep at it.
Thank you. I will keep at it.
I like it. Keep perfecting it until you get just what you want.
With some work and perhaps some other kinds of birds or perhaps swift mammals on the run, I could see this as a basis for a company logo.
Interesting. You could have moved the bird a little to the left.
Do you use a special program to achieve this type of result or is it a special in-camera photo technique?
What I used is in PhotoShop. Under filters, there is distortion, in there are several programs including "swirl". This is what I used.
Thank you very much!!! interesting effect!
