....in a Florida retention pond in the middle of town. Usually, its gators, however we found these three Mergansers swimming around in a retention pond at one of the medical centers in town...stopped to get a few pics of these unique little birds since it was getting on in the afternoon and figured they'd be leaving soon, and they did, they flew right after I left. They never let you get close no matter what you do...

They look and photograph a lot nicer than gators...pretty birds well captured!!

Thanks Jederick, I like them much more but, gators are a fact of life here in Florida....side note, never walk your dog near or along any pond or waterway in Florida, its like trolling...
