My neighbor recently got a new car, his niece wanted a poster picture of it for Christmas. This is what I did for them.
It was shot in the dark in my garage. I set the camera on a tri-pod, used a remote trigger, walked around the car with a 24" soft box with flash. Took about 12 pictures of the car, imported all the images into photoshop as layers then blended the images. Took one more picture with a flash on the drivers seat with a red gell to set off the red interior. Photo background was black, didn't like the look changed with a texture background.
Also have an ink drawing from this picture here..

What kind of car is it? It must have the engine in the large back end, front is too small.

It's a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. The top is fiberglass folds down over the engine. The engine is in the middle just behind the driver.
What lens did you use? My fisheye bends the edges and I think I see it here. I love the picture.

It took me a while but I found the information. I used my Nikon 14-24 mm f/2.8 Shot @ 17 mm.
I didn't use any lens correction because of all the separate image layers. You might be right on some distortion.
Exposure was 1/160 sec; f/8; ISO 64
I didn't re-focus as I walked around the car.
Nice job, but I think I like your ink drawing even more.

I have the canon 11-24 f4 and I really like that lens. When I do light painting I use a flash light and just one long exposure

This is the 4th car I shot this way. I have never tried a flashlight on a large object. You might know but I don't think I would get the sharp reflections with a flashlight like I do with the soft box that to me makes my rendering unique.

Thanks Frank. I like both of them. I showed the ink rendering to the person that owns the car and they like both. I'm 😊
Great photo Jim-Pops, I like the smoky background and the hint of the reflection in the foreground.
Wow, not the 1953 Corvette that my buddies and I, wearing our "Speed Shifter" jackets went down during high School lunch hour to see at Yerkey's chevy dealership. Oh well, at least my 99 Isuzu Rodeo SUV is the same color.
Wow....love the result, Jim! I love the use of the red gel for the interior. Very, very sharp!
