I am completely disgusted with the bigotry and r****m unfortunately laid bare in the Sastry thread.
UHH is different than many if not most photography forums that I have seen. While posts and comments can vary significantly from photography--in many sites; none include more sarcasm and direct personal attacks than in UHH. In fact, other sites generally don't allow any at all. I continue to come back in spite of this; as there are so many members here who not only are respectful to others; but are an asset to the community.
But now.....the administrators of UHH need to step up and not allow their site to be the vehicle for this hatred.
Don't use 'free speech' for your reason to say nothing. This is 'your site'. You set the tone. You make the rules. And it is your responsibility to create an atmosphere that is responsible and respectful.
At the least, you should have immediately stepped in to let the poster know (and all UHH members watching this thread) that his 'point of view' is not welcome on your site. And, if he continues, in any manner to spew this h**e, he will be immediately suspended from this site and possibly banned.
You need to step up and establish a minimum of moral integrity at UHH.
Anything less condones what has taken place.

If you are referring to a thread in the attic, forget it, this is UHH sewer. Just don't go there. Almost all threads are as you describe them.

As to the 'sastry' thread, I am not sure if anyone has a clue as to what you allude to.

Not in Attic. Of course you and the other Admins have seen this. And, not seeing the 'inappropriateness' is again not t***hful. You see everything.

What are you afraid of here? Don't answer. You have now actively condoned this type of speech and cannot accept any constructive or proactive criticism of your site.

Are you familiar with lifestyles in India?
Maybe they still get sponsors for things. We USED to in the olden days in the US, but no more.
Is that your hangup? He shouldn't inquire for a sponsor?
When I was very young I had a sponsor pay for a week at summer camp. So nice that he did. Very thankful and most appreciated it was.
