Black Fabric and Cute Rear

I had overlooked this frame in my PlusX Archive of Olde. I had given this young lady my black fabric and she ran with it. With the help of a modest breeze and her playing with the fabric we have a pleasant image.

I’m going to point out that over the course of seeing these Plus-x photos, I’ve noticed how well exposed they are. Detail in everything is always good. I shot much Plus-x and always got good results. So do you. D76?

Thanks for the comments. Probably D76; it was coming up on a half century ago and my memory is not that good!!! I commonly have to do some gamma-fixing or histogram adjustment. I know that to be the case here because her left side was very dark in the image right out of the scanner. But PlusX (and TriX) seem to have a quite nice dynamic range, long grey scale, and that allows adjustment to be less problematic. Tnx agn.

Ya, I never liked Tri-x because I found the grain to be problematic. Others I know loved it. Plus-x and eventually Panatomic-x were my go to films for monochrome. And being mostly in studios, I could work around the low asa numbers.

I haven’t shot film in a long time, but recently someone gave me a really cool vintage camera bag with 2 complete 35 mm setups in it. (I guess I’m a well known pack rat and just give it to John instead of throwing it out.). Anyway, both cameras have half exposed film inside, so I’m shooting the second half of each roll and looking forward to the fun of seeing what I can still do with film. Not to mention seeing what’s on the front of each roll.

The stuff…I have probably a dozen or so 35 mm cameras now. Like cassette tapes, nobody wants them so I get them by default. I’d make a display if I had the space, but my home office/studio is jam packed with shit I couldn’t bear to get rid of.

These are just made cell phone photos just for illustration.

My defence of my office at work was, "A clean desk is the mark of a sick mind." I think I would be quite comfortable in your workspace! The only part of my workshop in the basement that is "clear" is the table saw... for obvious safety reasons (I still have 10 fingers, unlike a friend of mine).

My first SLR was a Minolta SRT-101 with a 50mm lens. It really taught me how to compose, focus, learn lighting. Wish I still had it.
