Nude no. 192
This is the first girl I ever shot nude in my studio. Her name is Dawn, she has been posted here before. She brought Camiya to the studio with her and I photographed them both on my zebra rug. (Nude no.
096. Credited as Linda, although I just looked her up on my desktop and she is indeed Dawn)
Anyway, Dawns back, shot on Kodak portra with my Mamiya Super 645.
lovely image, well done. i am only a little disturbed by the linear shadow from the string.
This is an anticipation shot ... will the knot untie with one tug? Her buttocks are round and firm... a fitness club gal.
Hey John, your first nude shot? I would have expected some nervous camera shake! It's surprisingly sharp. (joking of course), I'm sure you used a tripod!

Not my first nude shot. That probably happened in high school???
My first nude shoot in my own studio. I liked to shoot off-hand, but my partner and teacher Joe Ford insisted on me using a tripod. I also used a 4x5 in school, so I was accustomed to using one. I bet I have owned 20 really good tripods during my career. I’d get one and like it and then see one in a different studio that I fell in love with. Had to have one. If anyone tells you that photography is cheap after your camera and lights, don’t believe it. It’s a very expensive hobby, and even more so if you plan to do it as a vocation or an advocation.
Tripod envy is like penis envy, only more expensive.
No to mention camera envy, lights envy, studio envy, etc, etc, etc.
Great work on tonality and its subtle changes.

LOL, great reply. And I totally agree with the envy part!
I really like the lighting pose and model. It's a nice photo and makes you want to look at it for a while.
