KEH Camera is one of the most preferred used camera dealers on this forum. IMO, there are three major reasons for this: their rep is sterling among most on the forum; they stand behind their gear; and they have some very nice folks to do business with.

I would like to shine the spotlight on one of those individuals. TONY PARRIS is a very nice guy to talk to, whether abt cameras or other things that interest you. I have just learned that Tony was the top producer for KEH last year. There have to be reasons for that performance. Tony is honest, knowledgeable, takes the extra step to find what you are looking for, and backs up his deliveries with his commitment to your satisfaction. On top of that, he is just one hellaofanice guy! If you are in the mkt for a used piece of photo gear, give Tony a call – tell him DeanS sent you.

Funny you mention this. I have a friend looking for a longer lens. Sent me a link to KEH yesterday. Hadn't heard of them and worried about their reputation. I assured him he was fine.

Bought a lens from them on Ebay. That was my first interaction. Bought another from their website. Both were better than described, work great and still use them.

Haven't spoken or dealt with anyone personally. Have a feeling Tony may be swamped. Lol.

No surprises here, Re: your last statement, Tomy will find time to talk with you! Personal story here: I called Tony once for a small, inexpensive item. We must have spoken for 10 mins, and I commenteld as we closed, that if you spent this much time with everyone, how will youever make a buck. He stated that I had just spent a few bucks, but that the next caller might spend $5K. Makes sense to me.

Dean, nobody here or elsewhere will deny the excellent reputation behind KEH camera. I never bought from them but I know they are knowledgeable, honest and offer excellent customer service.
MPB is another company with a great reputation and also excellent customer service. I have bought from them in the past and their grading of camera and lenses is pretty conservative. If they say a camera or lens is good expect something better than stated.

Agree. I was spotlighting KEH & Tony based on pers experience & myriad comments of other Hoggers. MPB also resides in that rarefied space based on tons of positive from Hoggers.

William as of late I will.... I've dealt with KEH for several decades (back to the film era) and they are a well recognized "Reseller" of previously own kit. However they are not what they use to be... caveat emptor!

I suggest you consider their collaborative with Tony & Chelsea Northrup... after viewing this I've rethought my valuation of their marketing paradigm. Also some of the recent kit I've attempted to purchase from them did not match their item's description, not even close (A $379 Nikkor rated as Excellent Plus was actually Bargain at best (smashed filter threads) rendering it useless for location work)! What where they thinking by claiming how great their rating system is and shipping garbage product? Well to their credit they immediately apologized and issued a full refund. Thank you KEH, however I'm not really keen on doing quality control for you guys at this juncture.

William (and others) be aware that KEH has changed... possibly not for the better... enough said.

Best Advice? There are a suite of Used Kit Resellers... Each brings their own unique attributes to the table.
Thinking none are going to dominate in a highly competitive ever shrinking Used Camera Gear marketplace.
Please carefully considered: KEH; B&H; mpb; Roberts (i.e. UsedPhotoPro) and a myriad of eBay vendors.
Each and everyone has something to offer... However caveat emptor!

Tony Parris at KEH helped me get a used Nikon 600mm f/4G. He found a unit with flawless optics, fully functional, but with blemishes on the body for well less than half the new price. If you need something special, call Tony. He'll help you find it.

Hi, I have made a number of purchases from KEH.
Every time, I have received products that are at least one grade better, sometimes even more, than in the description.
They never disappoint!
They are an excellent company to deal with.
Highly recommended. (By me!)
