When I had LR2 I would use the spray can to tag pictures but now in LR4 I can’t find it. I’m in Library module, Grid view and enable painting is checked under metadata. but I still don’t see the spray can. Searched google all I could find is how to use it but not how to find it. What am I missing? Please help!

When you check "enable painting" under metadata, the tool is active and doesn't show up at its docking point on the toolbar. When you place your cursor over an image (not just the border around the image) the spray can shows up and you can apply whatever settings, keywords or presets you have chosen. Clicking on the docking point will turn off the tool and, co-incidently, remove the checkmark next to "enable painting" under the Metadata drop down.

Long story short, is don't check "enable Painting" a nd the spray can will be available to you.

Thanks for the answer Birdpix. I didn't know you could auto the can. Matt at Kelby has a video I watched and have used the can ever since, probably to much. If Matt said anything about "enable Painting" I missed it. I use it mostly for Keywords. In a mix of soccer photos enabling me to "collection" to player typing only once per player. Enables me to sort couple hundred culled photos quickly.
