We disembarked our Lagos Andinos boat at Puerto Peulla for our stay at the Hotel Natura in the national park. We chose to walk the short but scenic .25 mile road from the dock where I was able to take these photos.

Peulla is a lake town on the eastern shore of Lake Todos los Santos in the commune of Puerto Varas ( Los Lagos Region , Chile ). The climate of Peulla is rainy, with rainfall all year round that is concentrated between the months of April to October. It gets its name from the mapudungun pillad , frost.

Location
The Chilean town closest to this town corresponds to Petrohué , 20 nautical miles (370 km), on the western shore of the lake. There is no land road between these two towns, so they communicate through the boats that cross the Todos los Santos Lake . In addition to the port, Peulla has an aerodrome.

This port is very close to the border with Argentina . Following route CH-225 (which cuts off at the Todos los Santos lake section), you are 26 km from the Pérez Rosales and Vuriloche international crossings .

The Peulla and Negro rivers converge and jointly flow into this town.

You cannot leave Chile without sailing on the wonderful Todos los Santos Lake, with its emerald colored waters and its surrounding forests. You can visit the world renowned Petrohué Waterfalls, that flow into a river that runs through beautiful rock formations. Also discover Peulla, a small ecological village of 120 inhabitants, which is on the route of the famous Andean Crossing. After visiting the Petrohué Waterfalls, you will then enjoy a two-hour boat trip on Todos los Santos Lake, taking in the views of the majestic Osorno, Puntiagudo and Tronador volcanoes. However, the adventure does not end when you arrive at Peulla, as there you can choose to take part in a large variety of activities such as canopying, horse riding, and a 4×4 safari, all in a stunning setting that will take your breath away.

For those who want to cross the Andes A unique crossing, sailing through The Andes Mountains across three beautiful lakes that are connected by four overland legs, from Puerto Varas in Chile to San Carlos de Bariloche in Argentina. A journey that can enjoyed on any day of the year, exploring the beauty of mountainous landscapes that takes you through the most colorful region of the Patagonia. Arriving to Argentina in just one day.

Among its natural attractions are the Gemelas and Los Novios waterfalls, and the El Encanto lagoon.

Services
It has food, lodging, first aid , police and customs services . It has 2G cellular telephony from Claro Chile, and from WOM (via national roaming). Entel and Movistar do not have coverage in the town.

For additional images of the lake as well as a narrative, please see my previous posts:
