Well HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone. Hopefully this year will begin to make some sense on many levels. I confess I have not gone out to do much shooting. So, my new year's resolution is to correct that. I love street and candid shots.
I live in Hernando County, Florida and we do not have a very out there population.
My question is where can I find people to shoot candidly if very few people are congregating except in food markets and places to eat???

Any suggestions... ?

Do you have any tourist attractions nearby? You might not find typical "street people," but people in general can still be worth the effort.

Farmers' Markets? Auctions? Car shows? High School athletics? Hiking/biking trails? I suspect there are more opportunities than you might think.

Hire some homeless people - or unemployed actors - to go into the markets and restaurants coughing, sneezing, and maskless. That might chase some of your would-be subjects back outside. 👹👹👹

At Bayport Fl. there are usually a lot of people fishing that can make good candids. Just drive west on Cortez Blvd. until you can’t go any further. Tarpon Springs is a good spot as is John’s Pass. Jan 8-9 is the Dunedin, Fl. Arts Festival.

Take a drive to Ybor City and spend the day walking around and shooting the colorful characters there and get a great meal at one of the many terrific restaurants. You can sit outside at the King Carona cigar lounge and enjoy a cafe con leche and take pictures of walkers by.

Also visit Mt Dora, a quaint village with many antique shops that draw many visitors. Dade City is the same, where the movie"Back to the Future "was filmed.

As noted, any tourist sites. Also malls and parks, although be careful around play grounds.

Don't forget Zoo's are also a good place for candids
