Actually the moon was setting and the sun was rising
Some basic facts of celestial mechanics: You can't get the Full Moon rising and Sun setting in the same shot (unless you use a very low FL fisheye. The full moon rises in the east (NE to SE depending on season), the sun sets in the west (SW to NW depending on season).
Since the sun and the moon always rise in the east, it's not surprising that one cannot capture one image with both events.
The sun was just about to break the horizon in the east when I captured this image of the moon in the western part of the sky. It was in the Southern Hemisphere, Southern Africa. But still, east is east and west is west. Some things never change.
