Not the best photo but this was taken with my cell phone of the Boulder County fires in Colorado yesterday. This photo was taken from our farm. the fires were about 35 miles from us with 70-100 mile an hour winds. We are safe and today we have about a foot of snow. How crazy. I pray for the poor people that lost their homes.

Saw the footage on TV, couldn't believe the way the fires were whipped along by those gale-force winds, I hope the casualties weren't too high.

It is sad! High winds = downed power lines starting the fire. I guess to much trouble & cost to bury the power lines? Hope no one was hurt.

Terribly devastating, wish those affected a speedy and best case recovery.

My son lives in Louisville, CO and was forced to evacuate. We were glued to a Denver TV station's coverage and just literally sick from the devastation we saw. As luck would have it, he went home yesterday and his home and all those around him were intact and unharmed. None of which makes it any easier for those who lost their homes and possessions in the fire.

I read a comment from a fireman that said it was the force of nature, not a lack of resources. Many years ago we had a woods fire that consumed a barn, a firetruck, several outbuildings, and a lot of woods. The crew of the firetruck had to run to escape the flames and our crew at the barn hid under their engine while the fire blew overhead. You don't fight fire when the wind is blowing like that...you simply follow along and try to save lives and what little property you can. Prayers for all concerned!
