Yes, this is a cool site. I would like to improve as a photographer so any suggestions on how I can improve my photos would be appreciated.

My main suggestion, if teaching yourself how to do photography: Take many pictures, and learn from your mistakes.

In general, this veteran Web site offers a variety of sound photography information.

http://photo.net/

Check out the Learning tab for photography instruction.

This interesting Web site helps you learn the operational aspects of a DSLR without a camera:

The SLR Camera Simulator: http://camerasim.com/camera-simulator.html

This Web site will explain ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, and their relation to one another:

Good luck.

Hello Werner,
Park is one of the great photo stages of the world. Did you catch the meteor showers and golden moonrise this morning? Sometimes best to put your camera down and just enjoy.
Welcome from Joshua tree.

That SLR simulator is terrific! It should provide a pretty good understanding of the various relationships between ISO and the other exposure controls. Anyone considering an upgrade from P&S to SLR should benefit from a visit to that site.
