Big Smile. Had one - same red / white Convertible top 3-spd w/dash-mounted overdrive. 287c.i I think. Of all things, it was my commuter back and forth to college.

In my sophomore year some #*&! drunk hit it head-on so hard it pushed it up over the curb and down a small embankment. Fortunately - it was parked perpendicular (backed in) at my apt. We had so many good times together - dang. You have stirred up some great memories (and one bad).

My neighbors Dad bought one for his wife in late 1957, came with a 348cu,in. Powerglide.
The only 57 I have seen with that engine (stock) in my life.

Nice photo, Jim. I like the composition, and one can never go wrong with red.

This is one well dressed Chevy. Forget the wheel and tire, they're both new. The gold trim and rubber bumper indicate it is well optioned. The beautiful paint says "Primo Ride" for somebody.

That 287c.i. was in the 1955 Pontiac, the '57 Chevy had a 283 c.i. engine.
