Nikon P7100 versus Canon G-12

Why is the Canon more popular over the Nikon? Both are almost identical, except Nikon has the advantage of 200mm Tele and also has Swivel Screen.

I didn't know the Canon G12 was more popular than the Nikon P7100, if they are...it's probibly not by much. They do look alike and one doesn't have the edge over the other as far as performance.

Hey Doc ..... the Nikon LCD is not fully articulating like the Canon ..... the Nikon LCD only tilts up and down but it does has higher resolution .....
..... the Canon G series has a good following ..... while the P series Nikon lagged behind with focusing issues ..... I heard that focusing with the 7100 has been improved but I've not tried one .....
