Had other business in Belfair, so we dropped by the State Park. Very windy day-39 F with a cold Southerly wind, 25+ kts- blows your hat off and pushes it a ways. Tide coming in, clear to partly cloudy causing changing light conditions.
The gulls and crows were "hopping" up flapping a bit then settling back down. High winds seemed to push them to fly. Note the roiled water in the background.
The Duck and Gull shots were taken at over 150 yards out! The Eagle was at least 60 feet up-over the trees and about 200 yards out!
The Kingfisher flew around for about 10 minutes-longer than I have previously noted. He was over 200 Yards out and up about 40 feet. Best on the wing shots so far, but not wonderful I am afraid.
The last Gull shot was taken as the bird approached me.
D850, 500pF, 1/3200, f 8, ISOs from 64 to 3200, No EC or CPL, held by arthritic hands, no background replacement. Yes some cropping and pp occurred.
Download and enjoy!

Very nice, I love the ducks pic, and as for the king fisher, they are REALLY hard to get. Ive been trying for years, they are too far away, or move way too fast ....
Another excellent set, Tim. A kingfisher BIF is hard to do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thanx! Glad I captured and presented the action evident in that steady cold wind. The gulls and crows kept jumping up for a few flaps then glide in the cold wind to a slow landing. The carcass shot is one of 12- D850 without the BL-5 EN-EL-18 battery pack. The gull almost hovered in that wind.
