This is a non-photographic post, so please don't comment on that fact, it is why I am posting in the General chit-chat section.

Two weeks ago (12/7) I placed an order for a Christmas gift for my youngest grandson. The seller estimated the delivery to be 12/23. As time progressed I received a few email updates indicating earlier delivery. The messages came from both the seller and the shipping company, Walmart and FedEx. A few days ago the estimate from both was delivery on Sunday 12/19. Made me happy it would be here early. On Sunday, no delivery. Monday morning, messages that the delivery would be by end of day, Monday. Again no package. Today, Tuesday around 3PM I get an email from both stating the package was delivered at 1:48 PM. Go to the porch, no package.

I decided to try contacting the both companies, seller first, online. Website says if no package but it is marked delivered, check around the house, ask neighbors but wait two days before contacting seller. Not happy with that response, so I call. Told the same thing but offered a phone number to contact shipping company. Call them get nothing but "I'm sorry, I know how you feel", ad infinitum. Also, when they ask my name, address and the tracking number, I'm told, my name and address do not match the tracking number. I ask for the name and address where the package was sent, they are not permitted to give that information out. Then told me to contact the seller. I am rather frustrated now. Call seller again, get similar response and further told sometimes truck drivers mark packages as delivered but it is not actually delivered, maybe it will get there the next day or two. Make another call to shipping, get nothing but the same empty comments. When I ask if the destination city is mine, I'm told no. Now I am getting more frustrated and a bit angry. I ask to speak with a supervisor, told I cannot speak with him/her. I ask how does another name and address get attached to the tracking number that is sent by both companies to my email address. No response. I got really mad and hang up on the agent. Make a third call to the seller and get a much nicer person who listens to me, and after some conversation and a request from me to try finding out where my package went, says he will make an attempt and will try to make a note of that in my file. Asked me to call back again in a couple hours.

Wife and had planned to go to a movie this evening so we go and I get a little calmer. Haven't called to see if I can find out where my grandson's gift has been sent. I'll will try that in the morning.

More data as I find it.

If you read this far, thank you for allowing me to rant, vent, and relieve some pressure and much anger.

Merry Christmas to all. Mine will be happy because most of my children and all my grandkids will be here. If my gift to my grandson makes an appearance, it will be great. I'll still have a good holiday.

Never trust Fed-Ex to deliver on time. Even when you pay extra for “guaranteed “ on time. 😡

One reason I generally buy from Amazon or buy from others and pay with PayPal. I have bought so much via these two companies that when a shipper loses my package I get a refund faster than FedEx or whoever can say they understand and are sorry.

Expecting Walmart to assist you is absurd. Amazon gets most of my online orders for just this reason. Walmart is really for in-person shopping.

Ordered something to be delivered by FedEx a week and a half ago. Was supposed to be delivered between 10am and 5 pm. never showed up. Called FedEx and got a computer that said it was going to the Post office. This I understand, but I thought "delivered" meant to me. Who knows what the Post Office will do with it. Ugh Sorry for the rant

Fed ex is not the only one that does not deliver on time. I had a box of wine that arrived on Monday 4 days after the initial delivery date of Wednesday the week before. I do not count the weekend. I was suppose to sign for the package and the delivery man did not require me to do so.

UPS was 2 days late the week before. The USPS has also missed deliver dates this year. My recall that I received this year were late.

Very true with fed-x, and I never know where to find the package, maybe at the end of my driveway 50 yds from my house, or on my woodpile 25 yds away, I never know where to find it. UPS always leaves at my door.

Did you even consider that FedEx did deliver early but your parcel was stolen by porch pirates?

Fed-up = "You might get your package, or not".......least around here.....I have watched them throw packages over the gate, have had neighbors bring me my pkgs...have found them "elsewhere"....some have never arrived.....besides "not caring" the Fed-up drivers don't appear to be able to read addresses.

The benefits of living in a small rural community… Our FedEx driver backs up to the garage and off-loads 44 lb bags (4) of cat food and stacks them neatly inside – small packages are left on the workbench... Our UPS drivers leave the packages in the garage... Our USPS driver brings packages to the door and rings the doorbell – if we’re not at home, the packages are left in the garage. We don’t come home and find packages outside on the porch – they might get blown away by the winds... Nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away and the local traffic is neighbors moving feed for the cattle or equipment from field to field... Strange vehicles are noticed and neighbors contact each other if something is happening on the properties. We're not worried about porch pirates...

I second the small community advantage, ups just delivered a small package yesterday. He was considerate enough to "hide" the package behind some of our decorations.

FedEx is the pits. I ordered an Apple watch for my daughter. Predicted delivery was the week before Christmas when I knew I would be home. Great. Then I start getting notices from FedEx that it will be delivered earlier than that, when I possibly will not be home. I go to the FedEx website and direct that it be held at the local FedEx store for pickup. That is confirmed when I go to the FedEx site and it states that delivery instructions have been changed. I then get an email from FedEx saying that package has been delivered. I check and it was delivered to my home. Fortunately, a neighbor retrieved the package for me before a porch bandit got it.
