I am curious as to whether it has anything to do with the D600 being made in Thailand? Its the first Nikon Full Frame made outside of Japan.

Two weeks ago. After several hundred shots, no dust yet. I'll be cleaning my son's D40 today. I just got the kits in DX and FX sizes. They each came in a nice zippered pouch with a bottle of Eclipse cleaner. The strange thing is that "Sensor Swab" does not appear anywhere. It looks like this company in MA bought the separate products and combined them in a zippered pouch.

I doubt that the country makes any difference. Thailand has been making Nikons for a long time. If anything, it has to do with the way Nikon set up the manufacturing process. Nikon is running the show, regardless where they are assembled. I'll keep checking my sensor, but so far, so good.

It would appear to be an engineering blunder. The key issue: what is Nikon doing about it? Silence seems to be golden at this point. Will be interesting to see what Jerry and others learn in the process.
