I have been taking photos for the last 50 years or so. I started out with a Minolta Rangefinder camera, then a Canon A1. I switched to a Nikon film camera, then about 15 years ago to a DSLR . In the past - I did my own B&W film processing and had a simple darkroom. The Minolta had a problem and I decided to fix it. I never knew there were so many very tiny screws and a springs. Not wanting to loose any parts, I put all the parts in a soup bowl. This camera was never meant to be used again. My kids called it 'The Soup Bowl Camera'
I still like to take things apart to fix them and now there is Youtube with a lot of information on fixing cameras and lenses. Here is Florida moisture is a problem and I have been able to remove fungus from a few of my lenses.
Lately I have been taking pictures with an Olympus underwater camera while snorkeling. It is fun to do, but the subjects rarely assist.
I am always looking for new ideas and techniques to improve my photos. A friend suggested I join this group - so here I am.
