What do you expect to gain? Speed is a wash it takes up more space and it being new has it's inherent issues. Wait a year and compare again is my advice. If you want to see the benchmark comparisons Google them. It doesn't even give much improvement in gaming or processing. In Fact it is slower in some areas and 2 to 3 percent faster in others. Looks like a wash so far to me and my friends who are geeky idiots. Lol

Thank you. I will take your (and others) advice.

Think it has been covered and you have decided but I plan to wait for an upgrade or two to Win 11 for any bug repairs. Have read a number of sources and only real improvements I see is for gaming so unless you are a gamer don't see the reward vs the risks.

I am a gamer and there is no real upgrade to games. A few percent in a few games and a few less percent in others. Lol.

No problems for me in lightroom on windows 11. It is not a bad idea to get it while it is free.

The best thing about 11 so far is that I can host multiple Dropbox accounts natively (business and personal).

Can’t thank you enough for sharing this good info. I would certainly drive myself crazy trying to fix this wishing I never upgraded. You saved me from hair pulling regret for making that spontaneous decision to go for it.

I do have a new laptop with 11 on it. Serious pet peeve is that you cannot move your task bar to the sides of your screen. Must remain on the bottom. All of my computers are set up the same, with my task bar in the right. It’s what I like and what I’m used to. Hope they fix this soon. Won’t upgrade other computers until they correct this.

I tried the search function but came up empty (as usual). I'm wondering how many of you that subscribe to Adobe (Lightroom, Photoshop, ACR) have completed this Windows upgrade and if you have had any problems running the Adobe programs afterwards. I'm a bit leery about this upgrade as my Dell desktop computer must be at least four years old and everything is currently working just fine. But I'm getting messages that indicate my computer is able to accept this upgrade. I look forward to your insight.

I updated to Windows 11 when it first came out and have had no problems with any Adobe software.

Lots of articles here. Some people point out things they don't like, so you'll have to decide what to do. I'm not rushing into it.

A thought...

1.) If it ain't broke....don't fix it

A few question? only you can answer....

1.) Do you like being a Guinea pig for MicroSoft & not get paid for it?, If something does go wrong, can you afford the downtime? Are all of your applications forward compatible with Windows 11?

Jumping to Windows 11 is like jumping to a camera upgrade. Do your really need it? As long as Windows 10 is still supported or my PC doesn’t go gunny bag I’ll stick with it. But then I’m the kind of guy who drives the same care for 10 years or more. My 1999 Ford Ranger runs just fine for what I use it for.

Rongnongno has a great idea - but I would create a disk image, which, if you have to restore it later, will give you a full bootable system drive. The image will include the boot sector and partition table, which an ordinary backup doesn't provide.

But I am waiting until the dust settles and Win11 is in its second or third update, with the same for Adobe software. I have always practiced the "never be an early adopter" rule, and so far it has worked for me. Early versions of anything are usually driven by marketing people, and often buggy, unfinished and one big hassle. When you get three giants - Microsoft, Apple and Adobe - mixing it up - it only spells trouble until really stable versions are released.

👍👍 Absolutely correct on all counts.
