These are a few of winter photos that I've taken in the past just to add to the Christmas spirit.
A morning after a snowstorm. The clouds gave way and the sun came out to warm the landscape.

Winter can get pretty cold in parts of the country, and this day, it was pretty damn cold. I forget exactly how cold, but it was well below zero.

My hiking buddy, Pantera, was a great friend and companion. He loved the cold and really liked to roll around and do that swim thing in the snow.

When the weather gets tough, the elk like to move in closer to town. Here are some cows as they meander about in a snow-covered field at the Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site.

Emma, my hound dog, used to be up for the challenges, but age is taking a toll on her body. She still enjoys a stroll from time to time though.

Thanks ELNikkor. I never noticed them before moving to Montana a while back. They occur on hillside and the weather has to be just right to loosen up a hunk of snow, which then rolls down the hill. Sometimes you get a whole bunch of them.

Love snow
Love winter
Love your pics, particularly the first 3...
In Pittsburgh we rarely get big snows, usually a few inches of wet, miserable snow.
For me, the deeper and colder the better.
Wonderful pictures...especially love the Elk and snow rolling down hill..
