Continuing selling off stuff i bought new and rarly or never used. I opened the box but never used this equipment. sells new for 785.00 both B & H and Adorama. 425.00 delivered US 48
I recently acquired one and it's got some great potential. They do take some time to set up, etc. So far, I've only been running tests, as usual with new equipment, but even those are showing some great possibilities. It's a remarkable piece of equipment.

Looks like a perfect mount for star/astro tracking - is it possible to program it to track celestial objects?
TriX, Don't let looks deceive you. One would have to be a hacking wizard to re-program the firmware. It is set up to record a rectilinear pattern of photographs. Celestrial tracking and timing are beyond the constraints set in the control inputs.
The way the initial setup is done is to set the focal length on the lens. Then, using the controls on the device, adjust to a point on the horizon such that that point is at the center of the top of the viewfinder. Then, again using the controls on the device, set that point to the center of the bottom of the viewfinder. That tells it the angle of coverage. Next, move the camera to the upper left-hand corner of the scene one wishes to photograph, then the lower right-hand corner. The unit is now set to take the necessary number of photographs to capture the entire scene. Those photographs are stitched together to form the final image.
There is a setting for the time between photographs, which allows for things to settle down before actuating the shutter. This is a very course overview of the setup.

No problem, I have looked at it before, and like this time, still not sure I want it.
From what I read on the web, it could be converted for astro use, but one either really needs to know the particulars of the specific hardware (Rated very hard), or to rip out and replace the electronics (best buy a broken one).
