Owls usually fly at night, How in the hell do you watch out for them? maybe it means duck if they hit the windshield!!

That's a Burrowing Owl. They are ground-nesting owls and do fly rather low to the ground when hunting down insects and lizards. I'm not sure if the sign is someone's sense of humor or a warning to motorists. Either way, I thought it was cute.
It's for the native Burrowing Owl AND it is on the 'threatened' state list...hence the official sign.
