Visitors to our lake

Just before we left to visit the grandchildren, I went to our local lake to check on migration. The attached set is composed of shots of visitors to our lake.

I have numbered the shots and would appreciate identification (or correction of identification) of the various birds.

As always, comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks, Susan. They have different coloration than our mallards, but there are probably variations within the mallard family.

Great bird set! We see ducks everywhere this time of year. Thanx for posting.

Great shots of the birds, Mike. The first one looks like a brant, also known as a lesser Canada goose. The second one appears to be an actual Canada goose. The neck looks longer and the head is shaped a bit differently.

Another expertly taken series. Looking at all of the ducks makes me wonder why Donald Duck wears a jacket but does not wear pants. I guess that it's one of those mysteries that we will never know the answer to.
