My evaluations, obviously as determined by my concept of beauty:
Argentina -- so-so without, very good with
Dominican Republic -- OK without, bad with
Ghana -- so-so without, so-so with
Chile -- OK without, so-so with
Singapore -- so-so without, bad with
Germany -- bad without, so-so with
Venezuela -- bad without, bad with
Morocco -- so-so without, so-so with
As usual, my feeling is that most of the contestants don’t even belong in such a competition, and very, very few can be characterized as even approaching beautiful.

not to sound like a total curmudgeon, but we care about these people... why? exactly? if i want to see pretty girls, i can go to any college campus or coffee shop ... i don't need to support (if even in an indirect and tacit manner) an out- dated T&A show

Many years ago, I was interviewed on the street about beauty pageants in general. I asked why did we need to paint up the women, when we should see them as they are, sans paint and clothes. I doubt that my videos even made it to the cutting floor.
The differences before the "pre" and "post" shots is primarily the use of light upon the contestant. It would be a more honest comparison if the shots were done under the same conditions across the board.
My interest in the Universe pageants has always been the national "costumes". But these have devolved to Las Vegas stage styling.
Personally, I'd be more interested in their personalities.

15 years ago Dove ran an ad on TV - "What is beauty?" - that points this out:
https://youtu.be/iYhCn0jf46UAnd having worked in a NY studio some 50 years ago I saw firsthand the difference between the real live girl and the post-make-up cover girl...very few of said cover girls would turn anyone's head walking by on the sidewalk without the makeup.
Another interesting perspective, again by Dove.

Without looking at their pictures, I know that it's possible to display pictures that are so bad that they don't really represent the person. They do that with movie stars all the time - find the worst possible picture they can to publish.
EDIT: We all know that women look better with makeup. In this case, the slide show switched to advertising a little ways into it.
2,3 and 4 looked pretty good to me.
Ever see any of the Kardashians with/without makeup photos ?
😳😳😳😳
Wow, some of the transformations looked like a different person.
I have always preferred ladies with little or no make up, artificial beauty is just that....artificial.
Imagine how much better men would look with makeup! : )

So, UHH has reduced itself to promoting/tolerating exploitation web postings and has transitioned to a trashy tabloid site?

How much of that transformation is from make-up and how much from Photoshop?
Lipstick and paint, make a woman what she ain't.
