Canyon De Chelly Arizona in autumn colors

We visited Canyon De Chelly a couple of weeks ago, and several places along the way. Most of northern New Mexico and southwest Colorado, were past their autumn colors. However, Canyon De Chelly was just barely past prime autumn colors.
It is a challenge to get photos there, as you are riding in a tour vehicle (no personal vehicles allowed, but we were the only two, beside the guide). So, to make compensate, I cranked up my camera speed to 1200, and got several that I liked. Of course there were a few stops, but it was so beautiful EVERYWHERE! I think I snapped over 1500 shots. The ride was a little(?) rough in places, but we managed. Yes, I highly recommend the location for photography, and the history. The guides are Navajo, as it is on the reservation. She was very friendly, and knowledgeable!
I have not seen any posted here on UHH of that time of the year, so here are a few to maybe inspire you!

I have lived in AZ since 1972, but have never seen CDC. Lovely pics, I prefer #3.

Chinle and the Canyon de Chelly are in "the middle of nowhere" - right in the center of the Navajo Reservation. It would, however, be worth the trip - you need to plan on several days - the light changes in the canyon constantly, and you need to see it from the top as well, especially in the morning and evening. You need to make reservations for the trip into the canyon. It is 38 miles long, so there is a shorter, half-day trip and a longer trip. The canyon is filled with cliff dwellings, and is a very spiritual place.

You need to make a point to visit there! It was extremely pretty, especially with the fall colors. We did see a group of hikers, and 1 other tour vehicle. I think we were the 1st visitors of the day. Very well worth the trip/visit; and it was not hot.
