I almost missed saying thank you to all WWII vets out there. Thank you for what you did for this country. I have been fortunate enough to meet a few of the heroes. A D Day survivor, a Batton Death March survivor, and a Tuskegee Airman. All were very humble and were concerned their sacrifices would be forgotten. Not forgotten here. Thank you all!!

There are not many WWII vets still with us. My WWII friend died two years ago. Time will tell if the greatest generation and their sacrifices will be remembered. I fear Dec 7th will only be remembered as the day between the 6th and the 8th. My local library did not have a tribute to the heroes of WWII. I guess that is social justice.

I only put the flag out on special days — yesterday was one of them.
Thank you all.

My uncle was on the Bataan Death March & spent 3 1/2 years as a POW. He traveled each couple of years to survivor reunions until a year before he died at 94 yrs old. BTW, he could not eat rice for the rest of his life.

I have the greatest respect for the sacrifices his generation made as well as those who have served since. They are a special breed.

But you, like all of us, will die. So will the memories of the great deeds done by the "greatest generation," lost in the liberalism of our current society.

My mother-in-law just turned 96 she was a a bit young for WWII service. My Father was in the Navy and my father-in-law in the Army. One uncle by marriage was in the Italian, British and US Army during the war. He received a major medal from France.

Absolutely right! My dad was a WWII fighter pilot. He flew a P-51. He died last year. Most of his fellow pilots are gone now also. I wish everyone in America revered our veterans, but I guess anymore most of our younger generations never are taught the sacrifices these men and women faced to keep us free.
