Yes there are also a lot of people who pass around silly memes and propaganda. But false information is also passed around in comments on forums and other media including news media.
I do agree with you that social media has had a bad influence on this country and it would be a good thing if it disappeared. A preacher who passed away long before the advent of social media said that entertainment was the devil’s playground.
