Thanks everyone who answered my inquiry. In 40 years of photography I never felt the need for a heavy duty ball until recently when I began doing more head and shoulder portrait work. My slik pistol grip balls were all I needed for landscape shots. I do have a L-bracket on my camera a collar on my long lenses and a gimbal head for wildlife so with the ball head I have ordered, I will be able to be as versatile as I want to be. All bases covered!
