Lots of Eagle Activity

I was at Conowingo Dam yesterday, Monday 11/29/21. The activity has picked up and I got several eagles grabbing fish from the river (The Susquehanna), a shot of two eagles fighting over a fish caught by one, and one eagle dropping its catch with another looking on. There were many more juvenile eagles than adults - some of the juveniles exhibit beautiful coloring which I tried to capture. Very nice shots! The eagles are there later than usual. A few years ago I was there about mid-October and there were many eagles. A trip back in November had only an handful. They seem to know the weather patterns better than we do. It seems a harsh upcoming winter will drive them farther south earlier. I hope the fact they are staying around Conowingo later means a milder winter for us here in PA.

Excellent set Elliott. It was very slow when we were there. Juvenile and sub adults were much more present than adults as well

Fabulous set, Elliott. Especially love the series of the Eagles pulling fish out of the river, tucking them in, and flying off to breakfast. Thanks for sharing the link to your Flickr page, the photos are beauties.
