I don't know if I like this photo so asking for your critique.
With the sun so bright I would think the ground cover and trees would be brighter. Picture should be balanced better, shadows opened up. Photo has lots of potential with additional editing.
I do not like the photo. The sun does nothing and what is there on the ground that is photogenic, just an open field. If you crop to just the field and what appears to be flowers then you may have something but even then what is the target of your photo, what is it you want the viewer to concentrate on?

Actually I agree with you. Maybe if I could make the sun sit on the top of the tree . ..
IF THE SUN BURST IS THE SUBJECT THEN THE BRIGHT FOREGROUND INTRUDES. IF THE FOREGROUND BRIGHT AREA IS THE SUBJECT, THEN THE SUNSTAR IS REDUNDANT AND INTRUSIVE . EITHER WAY, YOU NOW HAVE TWO SUBJECTS SUBTRACTING FROM EACH OTHER BY COMPETING FOR THE VIEWER'S ATTENTION.
The picture makes me question "What is it that you are trying to say?" "What is your focus or center of attention?"
These are basic questions that your picture does not answer. - As one of a series, I can see it as a document of time and place. But, it is an unfinished story.
When I am shooting. I ask myself, what I'm trying to share, what I'm trying to say, what I'm trying to invite others to see or feel. (Do they see or feel it?)
If you get the answer to these reactions when you look at your picture, it is within yourself. You were there. You had the experience personally that others may or may not feel.
Then the question becomes, "Did you succeed in getting others to see or feel what you saw/felt?" If you did or did not, the other people will give you the answer to your question. Think about their replies, their opinions. Work to get more of the opinions and replies that you want them to feel, to experience......
Not everyone will respond positively to what your vision, your goals were.
In the 'old days' of magazines, each image is a "stopper" or a "page turner". Which is this? Does it keep your attention and invite you (and others) to explore?
I could get more philosophical and practical. But, you should be doing this - if this is the direction of your intended photography.
There are many reasons to take a picture - a record of a moment, a capture of an event, a photo that stops you and will be remembered for the rest of your life.
