The paramecia-like microbes are joining small klatches and suddenly darting off to join other klatches like cocktail party invitees. The bacteria are pressed together in frenetic contact over a long line across the water. Everything is groups of like kinds. I can almost hear the music.

Now I remember the two frustrations of microscopy: Identifying movement caused by Brownian motion of the water molecules and always wanting more magnification

Well I can't have any more magnification. I think it's easy to identify non-random motion. It's resolving shapes of the smallest things I find most frustrating.
