C***D Cases Are Surging in the Five Most V******ted States

The five most v******ted states in the United States—Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut and Massachusetts—are all experiencing surges in new C****-** cases, as the Biden administration urges people over 50 to get their booster jabs.

Vermont, which is the most v******ted state, with 73 percent of its population fully jabbed, saw an 18 percent rise in new daily C***D cases over the last 14 days before November 24, according to New York Times data.

The northeastern state recorded an average of 370 new C****-** cases a day over the past week before Wednesday.

Newsweek has contacted the state's Governor's office for comment.

Rhode Island, which is 72 percent v******ted, saw a 69 percent rise in new cases during that same 14-day time period. The state recorded an average of 480 new cases a day between November 17-24.

Maine, also 72 percent v******ted, saw a 35 percent rise (now 694 daily average of new cases), while Connecticut, which is 72 percent v******ted, saw a 120 percent spike in daily C***D cases (now 751 daily average of new cases).

Massachusetts, which is 71 percent v******ted, saw a rise of 81 percent during the last 14 days before November 24. On average, it has recorded 2,881 cases a day between November 17-24.

On Tuesday, the U.S. recorded 100,636 new cases of C****-**, according to the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (CDC).

National daily cases have been rising since October 24, the data shows, where only 23,596 cases were reported. In the past two weeks, the seven-day daily average of new cases increased nearly 30 percent, according to CDC figures.

Sixty-nine percent of all Americans aged 12 and older have had two shots of the v*****e—equivalent to 196.2 million people, according to the CDC.

Roughly 1 in 10 Americans have had their C***D booster v*****e as new cases of the v***s continue to rise nationally, and look set to continue to rise after the Thanksgiving holiday break.

On November 19, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and CDC gave all adults the green light to get a booster shot six months after their second dose of an m**A v*****e, or two months after getting Johnson & Johnson's one-shot v*****e.

Later that day, the U.S. offered booster shots to all adults and encouraged people over 50 to get a booster.

The American Automobile Association (AAA) predicted millions of people would travel to be with family for Thanksgiving this week, despite the soaring C****-** infections across the country.

As of Wednesday this week, 10 cases of a new C***D variant that has a "really awful" combination of mutations that could possibly cause the v***s to evade immunity was found in Botwana, South Africa and Hong Kong.

The v*****e is not as effective as previously believed, the article asserts that roughly 30% of Americans 12 and older are not v******ted, I would suggest that of that population more than 1/2 probably have natural immunity, if the v*****e were as effective as we hoped it would be we would be done with this by now.

It was known but latgely ignored and under reported. Its not surprising though because its still experimental despite assertions otherwise.

I think the vulnerable should probably get it however people should consider the advise of their doctors.

Everyone that has been v******ted will die.

So will everyone who has not.

I think we should concentrate on good general health, working on changeable co-morbidities, and rush to market the best therapeutics. The time to plow forward on this thing called life has long since passed.

Nice click-bait but otherwise meaningless unless we know the distribution of new cases sorted by
1) v******ted with booster
2) v******ted but greater than 6 months ago and no booster
3) unv******ted
4) previously had C***d but never had v******tion, and
5) previously had C***d and then got v******tion
and then sort all the above into age groups

Once we have that data in hand, sense can be made of the statistics published in the article.

While Israel and the U.K. are keeping careful records of exactly such data and publishing it to their citizens, the CDC is doing, well......

Perhaps not technically. But consider that Merriam-Webster defines clickbait as "a headline designed to make readers want to click on a hyperlink especially when the link leads to content of dubious value or interest."

The story does not present the data needed to evaluate what is happening, nor does it try to explain what an honest evaluation of the data would conclude. It merely presents a headline that is likely to lead the reader to believe that v*****es are not working.

Which may or may not be the case.

So the headline, though sensationalistic, is potentially misleading, and the story is of dubious value.

What we don't need in the midst of an ongoing p******c is more misleading information.

In the 21st century, in what we like to consider the "greatest country on earth" our media and our CDC are underperforming to say the least.

The story is only of dubious value to those that haven’t been paying attention. Think about what the media presents to us and how.

The top scientists say get v******ted and protect yourself and others as much as you can. So my wife and I got v******ted and got our booster shots.
I live in a Winter Texan Park and people are coming down with the v***s all around the park. They have all been unv******ted. The hospital reported that over the weekend two hundred and sixteen people died of the v***s and they were all unv******ted, three got the v***s that were v******ted but were released.
So go ahead and be stupid stubborn don't get v******ted and suffer the consequences

The “top scientists”. Uh huh. Two of my relatives died after being fully v******ted from c***d and another got it - v******ted. Others I know of now have heart problems after the shot when they never did before.

The v******ted still get it and spread it. The “top scientists” say that too.

Very good point. Based on instinct with essentially no hard data I suspect the break through rate is at least 50% aince many v******ted individuals contract the disease and show little to no symptoms. The only number I have any faith in is that over 90% of those hospitalized are not v******ted. I have had two doses plus the booster and hopefully it will be mild when I catch it.

It's actually understandable that it is not as effective as claimed. None of the studies before it was approved went for more than about five months. But, it appears that the v*****e is pretty effective for about five months and then the effectiveness quickly wears off. That is what has happened in Ireland, Great Britain and Singapore and what we are currently starting to see in our most v******ted states.

In fact, in Ireland currently there are more deaths among the v******ted than the unv******ted across all age groups. That is going to happen before very long in the U.S. as well as the effectiveness of the v*****e begins to wear off.

Maybe boosters will help. I'm not about to find out since I had a reaction to the initial v*****e, and am not about to have that reaction again.

You would be correct, but unfortunately we don't seem to be tracking that data. And, the U.K. data seems to suggest that the v*****e is only effective for about six months.

Myocarditis is one of the many bad side effects. And, you have hit on the biggest problem with the v*****e. You can still get it, and still spread it. But, you may not know you have it, making how many people you spread it too even worse than if we did not have v*****es.

Heart problems are not the only problem with the v*****e either. Blood clots are a serious problem with the Johnson and Johnson v*****e, while Arthralgia is a serious problem with the P****r and M*****a v*****es. I got Arthralgia, and my doctor says I will probably never be able to run again. Seriously not worth it. Would much rather have taken my chances on the v***s.

number of cases do not concern this resident of Ct. Number of deaths relative to those cases does.If I got a mild case of C***d I would be thrilled. My immunity would be much improved.
