Yes I do agree, straighten the horizon. That apart, the photograph is exquisite, beautiful sunset and the silhouetted pier adds to the interest of the photograph - well taken.
I'd like to sit on that deck to watch the sun set.

Unfortunately you can't right now as it was severely damaged in Tropical Storm Irene, and not been repaired yet as I'm having a tough time with the insurance claim.

I love this shot! I too would love to hang out ther and have a cocktail and some good company! Hope you can fix it!

Is the horizon straight and the dock crooked? Just wondering because I struggle with getting my horizons straight.
Since tropical storm Irene the dock is really crooked.
But I believe the picture is relatively straight as the far bank is getting further away to the right.

I didn't have time this morning to chime in the the crooked accusation. First off, I don't think it's crooked. Second, if it is it has no negative impact on the image. This shot has been a happy place for me to go during this crummy day. I'm lucky and my mom and grandparents live on a lake. We have had so many good times on our dock. I love everything about this photo. I'll bet that dock would have stories to tell if it could talk! If it were me, I would have a high quality print made and hang it on a wall.
