Spyder5 Express won't calibrate my Dell U2412M

Been using the Spyder5 Express to calibrate my Dell U2412M for several years. Now when it is Measuring...Refining White Point...It gives me the error code= CalibrateG.IterateWP-SetWhiteointLUT returned err=999

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Spyder software several times, updated the monitor driver, reset monitor settings to factory. How can I tell if my Spyder5 is defective or if the monitor isn't working properly or something else? I really don't want to spend $200 for a new calibrator if that isn't the problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Google hasn't helped so far.

I'd vote for contacting Datacolor...https://spyder-support.datacolor.com/hc/en-us

if your display has a programmable LUT, like the U2410, you cannot achieve a profile with any Datacolor product. You need to use the i1Display Pro from Xrite. I am puzzled by the fact that it was working with Spyder products and now isn't. BTW, the i1 is considerably better as is the Xrite software when compared to the Sypder5. And it costs about $235.

They've got a great tech support phone line. They spent 30 minutes helping me resolve issues with their color checker.

Hi Gene. I'm not sure if there were past issues with Datacolor products on monitors with programmable LUTS, but my SpyderX Pro calibrates my BenQ monitor's 14-bit 3D LUT using Pallette Master software.

Hopefully this is not your problem, I had a monitor that overtime had lost enough brightness it could not be calibrated.

I was trying to decide between a new Spider and an i1 for my brand new BenQ that I ordered today. Glad to hear the Spider is working well. I have heard good things about both. I was going to use the BenQ software with it.

Palette Master is the software they recommend and the one I used. Additionally, Art Suwansang is a BenQ Ambassador and posts excellent youtube videos that walk you through calibrating your monitor step by step. Here's a link to one of his videos to get you started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjJb4-40KyM

Many thanks for all the responses. I did go to the DataColor website and do a search...no matches for my symptoms. Guess I will go back and open up a chat or workorder or whatever they have. I just don't want to buy a monitor or calibrator if it won't fix my problem. Thanks again!!
